Centrilobular pulmonary emphysema

Patient Data

Age: 55 years old
Gender: Male

HRCT Chest

Computed tomography shows centrilobular emphysema predominantly in the lung apex, no condensation or pulmonary nodules are observed,  the mediastinal structures have a normal appearance, incidentally hepatic steatosis is observed.

Case Discussion

This case demonstrates emphysema of centrilobular type,  a common finding in smokers.
