Premature labor pain, with some non-specific vaginal discharge. 26 weeks of gestation.

Markedly gaping internal os is seen with 'U-shaped' funnelling of gestation sac and bulging amniotic membranes. Near-total effacement of the cervix is seen.

Case Discussion

Cervical incompetence is a painless spontaneous dilatation of the cervix and is a common cause of second-trimester pregnancy failure.
