Case Discussion

Interposition of a loop of large intestine between the diaphragm and the liver. It is seen on plain abdominal, chest X-ray or even CT.

Normally this causes no symptoms and is called Chilaiditi's sign. It is considered one of the differential of pseudopneumoperitoneum.

Consider Chilaiditi's syndrome when the person experiences symptoms in the form of abdominal pain, breathless and volvulus of the bowel.
