Asymptomatic patient, incidental finding.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

Common bile duct

ultrasound

Distal focal segmental dilatation of the common bile duct is seen. The dilation is in its intrapancreatic portion.

No evidence of stones, masses, or extrinsic compression.

Case Discussion

Patient with no surgical history.

The findings correspond to a choledochal cyst type IB of the Todani classification1-4
