Presentation
Bilateral sacroiliac pain
Patient Data
Abnormal narrowing, ankylosing and bone bridges of the synovial portion of both sacroiliac joints. Associated subchondral fat signal involves both surfaces of the joint and displays a high signal on T1 and T2WI with low signal on fat-suppressed images, denotes fatty metaplasia. No abnormal bone marrow edema within neither iliac nor sacral surfaces of the joint.
Case Discussion
Our case here shows periarticular fat deposition with bony bridges/ankylosis, those together with subchondral sclerosis and erosion are typical features of chronic Sacroiliitis reflecting structural damage of the sacroiliac joints secondary to previous inflammation.
