Presentation

A traffic signal pole has fallen down on the patient's left shoulder. Fractured left clavicle suspected.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

  • Left: AP clavicle view (good view of fractured ribs here)
  • Right: AP axial clavicle view, caudo-cranial tube orientation (-15°/-20°)

Middle-third left clavicle fracture and multiple left ribs fractures (2nd, 3rd, 4th).

After finding fractured...

After finding fractured ribs CXR is quickly required.

Multiple fractured upper ribs.
Minimal left postero-basal pleural effusion.
No pneumthorax.
Normal cardiac silhouette.
