Coagulopathy related intracerebral hemorrhage

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

The patient has suffering from malaria complicated by DIC and presented with unconsciousness.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

There are multiple well-defined discrete areas of blood attenuation are seen in the bilateral supratentorial brain parenchyma suggestive of intracranial intraparenchymal hemorrhage.

Basal ganglia, posterior fossa structures, ventricular system and basal cisterns are unremarkable.

Impression: Multiple discrete bilateral supratentorial intraparenchymal cerebral hemorrhage.

Case Discussion

Imaging features in most coagulopathies are similar. Although bleeding can occur at any location, the most common site in these patients is supratentorial and intraparenchymal 1.
