A rounded hyperdense lesion located near the interventricular foramina of Monro. Although the bodies of the lateral ventricles are prominent, the temporal horns remain small, the brain sulci are not effaced and there is no transependymal edema to suggest acute obstructive hydrocephalus.
Case Discussion
The colloid cyst of the 3rd ventricle is typically seen as a well-defined, unilocular rounded lesion at the roof of the 3rd ventricle. They are typically hyperdense and calcification is uncommon.
