Combined UIP and emphysema in smoker

Diagnosis almost certain

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

Chest radiograph shows reticulation of the left lower zone with decreased volume of the right hemithorax.

HRCT shows centrilobular and paraseptal emphysema with upper lobe predominance. There are honeycombing, reticular interstitial thickening and ground-glass opacity in the dependent lower lobes more marked on the left.
