MRI demonstrates marked dilatation of the ventricular system, including the fourth ventricle, with wide open foramen of Luschka and Magendie. There is no transependymal edema (in keeping with chronic dilatation).
Case Discussion
Findings are consistent with communicating hydrocephalus.
