Communicating hydrocephalus in metachromatic leukodystrophy

Diffuse white matter hypodensities in both cerebral hemispheres.
Dilatation of the ventricular system without any obstructive lesion.
The brain stem and cerebellum are unremarkable.
No abnormal post-contrast enhancement.
Case Discussion
The features are suggestive of metachromatic leukodystrophy with communicating hydrocephalus. A similar case is reported by Jay Desai and John Grimm in MRI 1.
