Respiratory distress in a newborn. Normal delivery at term.
Patient Data
The NG tube is projected over the stomach which is located in the left hemithorax because of a left sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia. The UAC is in an appropriate position. The UVC is malpositioned and it sitting in the left portal vein which is within the herniated left lobe of liver.
There is associated pulmonary hypoplasia on the left.

Case Discussion
Undiagnosed congenital diaphragmatic hernia with a malpositioned UVC in the left lobe of liver which has also herniated into the left hemithorax.
