Case Discussion

In the chronic stage of corrosive esophagitis, features such as esophageal narrowing, irregularity and multiple strictures are evident.

On the first image, mild aspiration of contrast material is seen during the procedure; however, no contrast extravasation is present.

The stomach appears grossly spared, which suggests an alkaline agent rather than acidic was ingested.
