Craniopharyngioma

Case contributed by Dr Maxime St-Amant

Presentation

Visual symptoms.

Patient Data

Age: 10
Gender: Female
MRI

There is a voluminous, polylobulated, surpra-sellar mass hyperintense on T1 and T2 (with intra-sellar extension, since it is big!), without any solid component. Post-gadolinium T1 show no enhancement, since it is a cyst with high protein content. One part of the lesion is actually purely cystic, located at the upper third on the right.

This children actually presented with visual symptoms, which is comprehensible when looking at the MRI, since there is a compression of the optic chiasm.
