CT images show the core-biopsy needle positioned in the lower pole of left kidney. After the biopsy procedure a perirenal hematoma is noted as an immediate complication.
Case Discussion
This patient stayed for a longer observation period and had no further complications.
Complications of renal biopsy include:
- perirenal (retroperitoneal) or intra-renal hematoma
- hematuria
- AV fistula or pseudoaneurysm
