Cystic bronchiectasis

Outpatient presented for a CT examination without a medical history. On the CT questionnaire she indicated previous episodes of respiratory infection.

Patient Data

Age: 82
Gender: Female

CT Chest

Right lung volume reduction and replacing of the entire lung parenchyma by bronchial dilatation and scars (cystic bronchiectasis).

Case Discussion

This case illustrates a right lung reduced in volume and entirely characterizes by scars and cystic bronchiectasis.

Bronchiectasis is one of the common sequelae in untreated cases of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB). Unfortunately it was not clear if the patient treated for TB before.
