Presentation
Left lower anterior abdominal wall pain and swelling. No history of trauma. Short duration history of few days.
Patient Data
At site of swelling pointed by patient (left iliac fossa), there is an irregular shaped collection involving anterior abdominal wall muscles. It involves deeper fibers of external oblique, full thickness of internal oblique, superificial - mid fibers of transversus abdominis.
Center of the lesion shows an anechoic cystic lesion with a calcification focus. Rest of the collection shows low level echoes. Local hypervascularity is noted.
Approximate size - 35 x 30 x 30 mm
No obvious intraperitoneal extension is noted.
Case Discussion
Incision and drainage was done. Histopathology - Cysticercosis.
