Presentation

Female patient presented with shortened left lower limb. Limping and pain while walking.

Patient Data

Age: 15 months
Gender: Female

Dislocated left hip with asymmetrically sized femoral epiphysis (left is smaller) and underdeveloped, shallow left acetabulum.

Case Discussion

The case shows Puttis’s triad

  1. increased acetabular triangle
  2. small epiphysis due to ossification
  3. superolateral displacement (superior to Hilgenreiner’s line and lateral to Perkin’s line)
