Fracture through the physis with metaphyseal extension of the fracture line.
Case Discussion
The metaphyseal fragment created between the physis and the fracture line is known as the "Thurstan Holland" fragment/sign. Note: "Thurston", often spelled with an 'o', is actually an incorrect, albeit dominant, spelling of "Thurstan".
Charles Thurstan Holland (1863–1941)
