Abrupt loss of bile signal at the distal portions of the common bile duct & pancreatic ducts with mild dilatation of their proximal portions (giving rise for the characteristic double duct sign) and to less degree the central intra-hepatic biliary radicles.
Case Discussion
The two most common causes of the double duct sign are carcinoma of the head of the pancreas and ampullary tumors.
This was a case of pancreatic head mass.
