Ectopic kidney

A newborn with abnormal kidney location

Patient Data

Age: Newborn

Tc-99m DMSA scan

Nuclear medicine

Normal radiotracer uptake of both kidneys. The right kidney is smaller than the left one and located near midline. The left kidney is normal in size and position.

ultrasound

Right kidney is not present in its normal right renal fossa, instead located near midline. Left kidney is normal in position.
