Left kidney is not seen in its normal position, instead it is seen in the left iliac region anterior to the left iliac artery showing normal size with malrotated pelvicaliceal system. Normal parenchymal enhancement and contrast excretion is noted. No evidence of any nephrolithiasis or hydronephrosis. Normal opacification of the ureter is noted with insertion into the left trigone of the urinary bladder. No hydroureter is noted.
Case Discussion
Renal ectopia can be ipsilateral (as in this case) or contralateral.
