Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

The left kidney showed extra-renal pelvis which is markedly dilated as well as markedly dilated left ureter with a tortious course. The left ureter inserts into the left seminal vesicle, which is also enlarged.

Case Discussion

Ectopic insertion of the ureter is rare urinary tract anomaly, with it inserting into nearby pelvic organs other than the urinary bladder such as the vagina, seminal vesicle or urethra. Here, there is ectopic insertion of the left ureter into the ipsilateral seminal vesicle with marked left renal pelvic dilatation and marked hydroureter.
