Presentation

Patient with end-stage renal disease on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD).

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

CT abdomen

CT of the abdomen demonstrates widespread thickening and calcinosis of the peritoneal reflections. Localized fluid collection. 

Also, bilateral renal atrophy noted with several cysts.

Colonic diverticulosis without any diverticulitis.

Case Discussion

Encapsulated peritoneal sclerosis, also known as sclerosing encapsulated peritonitis, is one of the complication of peritoneal dialysis. It can cause small bowel obstruction.
