Enchondroma - metacarpal

A high T2 signal medullary cavity lesion that expands the base of the first metacarpal is consistent with an enchondroma. 

Case Discussion

The patient went on to have a curettage. 

Pathology:

Multiple fragments of pale white glistening relatively soft and slippery tissue that fragmented upon handling. These tissue fragments aggregate to approximately 2 cm.

Histology demonstrated low grade cartilaginous neoplasm, consistent with enchondroma
