Ependymoma - posterior fossa

Presentation

Blurring vision in both eyes and giddiness.

Patient Data

Age: 16 years
Gender: Female
mri

Well defined heterogeneously hyperintense signal lesion on the T2W and fat suppressed images in the mid line fourth ventricular region, with internal cystic components.   Internal calcifications are also seen within the lesion, as evident by 'blooming' on GRE images.

After administration of contrast, the lesion shows heterogeneous enhancement with non-enhancing cystic components.

 Mass effect with mild obstructive supra tentorial hydrocephalus noted.
