Presentation

Acute right scrotal pain and swelling of 4 hours duration.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Increased epididymal size with prominent vascularity of the right epididymis, consistent with epididymitis.

Case Discussion

The patient came complaining of acute scrotal pain which is considered an emergency. It is important to exclude testicular torsion. 

Epididymitis is the most common inflammatory process affecting the scrotum in adults. There was no change in the adjacent testicular parenchyma which would indicate epididymo-orchitis.
