Case contributed by Jeremy Jones

Presentation

Left hemiscrotal swelling and pain

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

The left testis and epididymis are large and hyperemic.

Case Discussion

The left testis is larger than the right. Where there is size discrepancy, look for a mass or evidence of inflammation. In this case, there is no mass and hypervascularity. There is also associated engorgement and hypervascularity of the epididymis.

Appearances here are of epididymo-orchitis.
