Palpable midline mass in the suprasternal region.

Age: 20 years
Gender: Female

In the suprasternal region, there is a well defined hypodense rounded lesion with no internal septations or calcifications. There is no connection to the thyroid gland.

Note is made of bilateral sternal ossicles

Case Discussion

Episternal ossicles are accessory bones that are located posterior or cephalad to the manubrium. They result from supernumerary ossification centers and are seen in less than 2% of the population

Also in this case we identify a suprasternal dermoid cyst. Differential diagnosis included suprasternal dermoid or a thyroglossal duct cyst.
