Ewing sarcoma

Presentation

Palpable chest wall mass.

Patient Data

Age: 16 years
Gender: Female

Abnormal rarefaction and expansion of the left 6th rib accompanied by huge inta and extra thoracic soft tissue mass epicentered on the affected rib.

Mild to moderate left sided pleural effusion.

Two left axillary lymph nodes, the largest 15 mm.

Small pulmonary nodule at the lateral segment of the right lower lung lobe.

Case Discussion

16 years old girl with palpable soft tissue mass on the left side of the chest wall anteriorly. CT of the chest shows expansion and rarefaction of the left 6th rib accompanied by huge soft tissue mass, left axillary lymph nodes, left side pleural effusion as well as right pulmonary nodule.

CT findings together with the age group suggest Ewing sarcoma.

The mass was pathologically proved to be Ewing sarcoma.
