Ill-defined mixed lytic-sclerotic lesion involving the right iliac bone with areas of cortical destruction and extensive lamellated onion peel type of periosteal reaction. Large heterogeneous soft tissue component is seen involving the right iliacus and gluteus minimus muscles.
Case Discussion
Age, imaging appearance and site of the lesion are consistent with Ewing sarcoma. Close differential, in this case, was chronic osteomyelitis. Biopsy showed features of small round blue cell tumor confirming the diagnosis of Ewing sarcoma.
