Presentation
History of cut injury by the glass - dorsum of mid/forefoot resulting in extensor hallucis longus tendon tear - 2 weeks back. A surgical repair was done. The patient presented with loss of tendon function during the last few hours.

There is a complete tear of the EHL tendon. The fluid-filled gap between the two tendon edges is about 35 - 40 mm. Floating sutures are present in the fluid gap. The proximal torn end is at the level of the tarsometatarsal joint. The distal end is at the metatarso-phalangeal joint level.
With great toe passive movement (dynamic scan), there was no movement of the proximal tendon.
Case Discussion
Findings suggest re-tear of repaired extensor hallucis longus tendon.
