Presentation

Facial swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Extensive right sided paranasal sinus opacification with an extradural collection in the right anterior cranial fossa, a small subperiosteal orbital abscess with proptosis. Extensive subcutaneous swelling. 

Case Discussion

The patient went on to have surgical drainage.

  • GRAM STAIN = Leukocytes ++
  • CULTURE = Streptococcus anginosus group (milleri group)
