Extrapulmonary tuberculosis - multiple sites

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

An enhancing nodule is present in the left temporal pole with surrounding edema. 

A right parietal bone defect with subgaleal collection and dural thickening is present. 

MRI of the brain confirms the left temporal lesion and right skull collection with a bony defect. Additionally, a left facial collection is present. ​

MRI of the cervical spine demonstrates extensive discitis/osteomyelitis and epidural abscess. 

A left apical pulmonary abscess/empyema and retropharyngeal abscess are also present.

This individual was from South East Asia, HIV negative, with pathologically proven extensive pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis
