T1 VIBE Dixon axial imaging of the abdomen shows a sharply demarcated area of the liver. With the right side of the liver having high signal and the left side showing low signal. This is due to a fat-water swap artifact.
The MRI otherwise shows multiple prominent retroperitoneal lymph nodes with subcentimeter mesenteric lymph nodes.
Case Discussion
Fat-water swapping artifact is a computational error in which regions are inappropriately suppressed when it is unable to be determined whether a voxel contains water or fat.
