CT IVP for work-up of a renal lesion seen on ultrasound during recent inpatient admission.
Patient Data
2 cm right inferior pole enhancing mass. No other renal lesion with the kidneys having an otherwise normal appearance. Enhancing 3 cm right inguinal lesion in close association with the femoral vessels.
The inpatient admissions was for a STEMI, for which the patient had been a coronary angiography and intervention.
3 cm femoral artery pseudoaneurysm with a small 3-4 mm neck. Yin-yang sign demonstrated.
Case Discussion
This pseudoaneurysm was found incidentally, the patient was not symptomatic and it was successfully treated with an ultrasound guided thrombin injection. Pseudoaneurysms are reported to complicate ~1% of diagnostic coronary angiography and ~4% when intervention is performed.
