Abnormal antenatal ultrasound.

Age: 32 weeks

Fetal MRI

Bilateral clefts extending to the lateral ventricles.

Fetal MRI confirms the clefts are lined with grey matter which distinguishes shizencephaly from porencephalic cyst.

Bilateral schizencephaly is commonly open lip (as in this case).
