Fibrous dysplasia - mandible

Diagnosis almost certain

5.6 x 3.3 cm smooth ground glass, expansile mass with a narrow zone of transition in the left body of the mandible. The medial aspect of the mass involves the alveolar foramen.

The medial aspect of the mass is 2 cm from the midline. No extension into the condyle.

No other bone lesion.

Case Discussion

The appearances of this mandibular lesion is classical for craniofacial fibrous dysplasia.

The expansile ground-glass appearance is typical of this condition.
