CT demonstrates a low attenuation lesion with no distortion of vessels on post contrast imaging, suspicious for fatty infiltration. On non enhanced CT, focal fatty infiltration is suspected if it is 8-10HU less than the spleen.
MRI confirms the abnormality is fat, with T1 in-phase signal intensity higher than the spleen, with uniform signal loss on T1 opposed-phase imaging (not shown). The lesion loses signal on the T2 fat suppressed imaging with vessels seen to course through the lesion without distortion.
