A well-defined foramen cecum can be seen at midline on the sagittal plane, between the frontal crest and crista galli of the ethmoid bone.
This represents a normal anatomical variant.
Case Discussion
Normal anatomical variant of a foramen cecum. When patent, this foramen can contain emissary veins from the extracranial venous circulation to the intracranial venous sinuses, potentially allowing for intracranial spread of sinus infections.
