Presentation
Penetrating injury to sole of foot 2 months previously. Patient complained of pain at the site. On examination, the skin was indurated and erythematous.

Metal density foreign bodies noted in soft tissues of the heel, inferior to the calcaneus. No signs of osteomyelitis.

Echogenic foreign body is noted deep to skin. Local inflammatory changes resulting in ill-defined hypoechogenicity and hypervascularity of the soft tissues.
Case Discussion
These metallic foreign bodies are seen well on both X-ray and ultrasound examination.
