Insertion of foreign body.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

A hollow, mostly radiolucent tube is seen in the rectum.

Post-operative photograph of the foreign body.

Case Discussion

This turned out to be an aluminum cigar tube and was successfully removed.

Unlike metal, aluminum has a low attenuation on x-ray and is thus much less conspicuous.
