Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Left index finger thorn injury 6 weeks before the presentation. Complaining of pain, swelling, and restricted movement of the index finger.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years

Soft tissue swelling involving the index finger with no associated bony changes.

There is effusion involving proximal interphalangeal joint of index finger along with synovial thickening and hypervascularity. There is a linear echogenic structure within joint which is foreign body - a thorn.

There is no tenosynovitis / tendon tear.
