Case Discussion

Mucocele of paranasal sinuses is an airless, expanded sinus that develops after obstruction of the sinus ostium, or rarely after filling of the sinus by a distended mucous gland, and contained mucoid secretions produced by the mucosal lining. The extreme differences in MR signal intensity reflect variable hydration of the mucoid contents of the obstructed sinus.
