Foci of polypoid mucosal thickening with enhancement within gallbladder neck lumen and partial luminal obliteration and distended gallbladder upstream with submucosal edema containing multiple stones of different sizes are seen. Multiple hypodense foci with irregular margin and heterogeneous enhancement and different sizes in hepatic lobes more consistent with liver metastasis are seen.

Case Discussion

This is a rare case of pathology-proved gallbladder adenocarcinoma and multiple gallbladder calculi with liver metastasis. Gallbladder calculi can lead to chronic mucosal inflammation and resultant metaplasia and are one of the major predisposing factors for gallbladder adenocarcinoma. Most of the cases are advanced and managed with palliative chemotherapy 1.
