Episodic right upper quadrant pain. Incidental ultrasound finding

Age: 80
Gender: Male

2 cm focal, heterogeneous mass lesion arising from the gall bladder fundus showing blood flow associated with a large mobile calculus

Case Discussion

Gall bladder cancer is rare, with most tumors being adenocarcinoma. It is more common in women and usually in seventh and eighth decades. It is associated with cholelithiasis and rarely chronic typhoid (salmonella typhi) infection of the biliary tree.
