Gallbladder carcinoma

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Weight loss and vague abdominal pain. Surgery following CT.

Patient Data

Age: 85 years
Gender: Female
pathology

Gallbladder carcinoma is uncommon, with a poor prognosis. Five year survival is less than 5%.

It may present insidiously with weight loss or a palpable mass or with jaundice.

 

Case Discussion

Large distended gallbladder, which is entirely occupied by a solid internal mass, with internal hemorrhage.

Histopathology confirmed the radiological suspicion of a gallbladder carcinoma
