Gastric cardia adenocarcinoma

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Dysphagia and significant weight loss.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male
  • masslike wall thickening suggestive of tumoral infiltration at the gastric cardia and gastroesophageal junction, associated with few perigastric lymphadenopathy with a maximum SAD of 10mm
  • a few non-enhanced simple cortical cysts in both kidneys, with maximum diameters of 25 mm
  • gallstone measuring about 6 mm
  • hypodense nodule at the right thyroid lobe measuring about 12 mm
  • degenerative changes such as endplate sclerosis and marginal osteophytosis are seen in the thoracolumbar spine

Case Discussion

The patient underwent surgery and histopathological examination was compatible with gastric cardia adenocarcinoma with regional lymphadenopathies. No detectable metastasis.
