Presentation
Onset of nonbilious vomiting and a palpable mass.
Patient Data
Abdominal plain radiography shows a large soft tissue circumferential mass displacing the bowel to the left.
Ultrasound reveals a cystic mass with the double wall sign (inner echogenic layer and an outer hypoechoic layer).
MRI T2-weighted sequence demonstrates a cystic mass with close contact with the gastric pylorus.
The Photomicrograph shows histopathologic features that are characteristics of a gastrointestinal duplication: an inner smooth muscle layer and an outer atrophic gastric mucosal lining.
Intraoperative picture: duplication cyst between the gastric antrum and duodenum.
