Presentation
Painful swelling of the distal 4th digit of the left hand.
Patient Data
The frontal radiograph and enlarged image show a subtle soft tissue density with scalloping of the lateral aspect of the distal phalanx of the left 4th finger.
A well-circumscribed nodule is noted at the lateral aspect of the distal phalanx of the 4th finger. It shows a low signal on T1WI, high signal on T2 fat sat with intense and relatively homogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequences. The scalloping of the adjacent cortical bone is also well-visualized on both axial and coronal sequences.
Case Discussion
The location and the MRI features are most consistent of a glomus tumor, also known as glomangioma.
